What is your happiest Valentine's Day memory?
I'm not totally sold on the whole Valentine thing. My idea of Valentine's Day is still best remembered by receiving Valentines in grammar school BEFORE teachers made it mandatory that every student make one for every other student. I hate that! Is that gonna make anyone feel special? Ahh, NOT! My favorite Valentine Day's was in fifth grade when I received secret and special Valentines from 10 different classmates (one a girl, pre-liberation times!). I was thrilled.
What was your biggest Valentine's Day disaster?
When I was dating someone who told me “Hallmark events meant nothing to me.” BYE-BYE!!!
What Broadway song would you use for a Valentine's Day serenade?
My husband and I love the song “Our Love is Here to Stay” [by George and Ira Gershwin]. We played it at our wedding, and we play it for every anniversary!
